Design concept from our studio:

The Feel:

I wanted to create a story, not just a moment in time at an event, and chose the venue, Grand Cafe in Minneapolis, MN. Simply walking into this space you stand up a bit more straight, feel more elegant and yet, could be right at home and lounge on the plush seating. Where better to have a fashionable, small and detailed event? In the end, I wanted the final images to make you feel like you were with the couple at this gathering during their intimate event: pre-party, ceremony, post ceremony dinner and drinks, and finally leaving the venue.

The Flowers:

Inspired by the new, blush walls of the former bakery, now upscale French bistro, I drew from pastel colors found in modern florals using heirloom garden roses, enhanced orchids and waxy anthuriums and a nod to Minnesota with a green and white Lady Slipper orchid. The pearlescent / holographic effect and texture was used in the place cards, aqua dessert plates all the way to wardrobe. The venue’s 30s style pink champagne coups and our mirror table runner gave double the flowers and light.

The Final Look:

Everything needed to be clean, eye catching and refined.  I loved the way the venue space is already defined, requiring just the right amount of light and sparkle off of the tables and the wardrobe. I used the backdrop of green print wallpaper in the space and created a lux center floral design low enough for conversation.

My appreciation to all the vendors who were a part of this A List team.  You are true artists in the purest form.
